Program Objectives: Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:
Identify the roles of all members of the healthcare team and effectively collaborate to improve patient outcomes and ensure optimal practice.
Distinguish between an unavoidable poor patient outcome and a failure to utilize best practices and/or apply hospital policies in the setting of an adverse patient outcome.
Differentiate the physiological responses to Sepsis in adults, children and pregnant persons as each have potentially different presentations.
Diagnose early Sepsis prior to the patient needing intensive care or experiencing organ injury.
Integrate new data coming from regulatory bodies such as CMS and CDC into their approach to the diagnosis and care of Sepsis patients.
